MEET YOUNIS YACOOB
Younis Yacoob is a Guyanese American, raised in a rural village shaped by the descendants of indentured laborers from India. Briefly employed as a farmer and general laborer immediately after school, he went on to become a teacher and eventually ended up in the engineering field as a drafter. This afforded him the opportunity to travel to other parts of Guyana, giving him his first meaningful interaction with other cultures and practices outside of his small community.
Benefitting from the privilege of living the last eighteen years of his life in the multi-cultural society of NYC, he has been able to witness the positive effect of shaking the constraints of religious sensitivities, mostly in younger people.
Younis immigrated to the USA in 2001 and lives in NYC with his wife and son. He is currently engaged as a successful Managing Partner and Project Manager of a small architectural firm in New York City. He is an avid reader, frequent traveler and has an interest in ancient scientific possibilities.
